She is well grounded, dedicated and quite intelligent. Emotionally she is frequently quite "in tune" with others, particularly due to her ability. While not always obvious, Mikaela is driven by passion. Her devotion to her work, her dedication and love for her daughter, her loyalty to her friends. Those who are more familiar with her see a streak of fun, and a love for life. She is the first to laugh at a joke, the first to notice when a friend is upset, and the first to get her heart broken. She is practical out of necessity and her job has forced her to become one of the guys in many ways.top Appearance Of average height, feminine build and an incredibly youthful and pretty face, Mikaela was often everyone's last pick for law enforcement. Her hair is long and blonde, her blue eyes light and full of life. She's athletic in build and considered tomboyish in nature a lot of times because she rarely dresses up, more out of practicality than cluelessness. There is a haunted look to her at times due to the way she sees some of the darkest sides of the city through her visions. Her father raised her alone until she was ten, when he remarried a divorced nurse. Mikaela's new mother Angela legally adopted her and Mikaela's step-sister Tammy became her legal half-sister. Mikaela was hoping to finally have a full family again but Tammy's objections to her mother's second marriage caused the girl to act out. top Lake Forest High School During Mikaela's freshman year of high school she made the Varsity Soccer Team, a feat she is still proud of. Her family life was still complicated, as Tammy had begun to act out more and more for attention and Mikaela began to feel ignored. Soccer games and events important to her were often put to the side when Tammy would run away, get called into the office and eventually do things like run away. It was Mikaela's junior year that really changed her life. She came in contact with Henry Taylor, heir to the Taylor Empire and became the only girls to ever resist his charms on purpose. They had a tendency to flirt and snark with one another but Mikaela never thought he was serious about her. Instead, she ended up dating his best friend, Kevin Carter. Ignored more and more by her family, Mikaela was receptive to the fact that Kevin wanted her. When he proposed to her at their high school graduation, she was quick to accept. top University of Chicago and Marriage  Mikaela's ex-husband Kevin Carter (Jude Law) and their daughter Bailey (Alexa Gerasimovich). Mikaela took the year after graduation off to work with at-risk kids, a job that took the suburban girl and made her streetwise d=faster than she realized. One of the kids, Jake, was killed in a drive by he had nothing to do with. Jake was only twelve. The event made Mikaela start to consider becoming a homicide detective after college. The next year, Mikaela started the University of Chicago studying Psychology and planning her wedding to Kevin. She found herself missing the banter she had once had with Henry who was attending Harvard. Henry was Kevin's best man at their wedding and tried to talk Kevin out of marrying Mikaela due to his own feelings for Mikaela he'd never dealt with. Tragedy soon followed with the death of Henry's father and his return to Chicago. Kevin agreed to help Henry run the business and Mikaela made the decision to go to the Police Academy, much to Kevin's dismay. During her junior year, Mikaela unexpectedly became pregnant. She was thrilled but Kevin wasn't and tensions began to increase between them. Bailey was born during Febraury of 2003, Mikaela's senior year. Kevin was out of town on business when Mikaela went into labor three weeks early and Henry had to go to the hospital in Kevin's place. Henry was made Bailey's godfather. Three months after Bailey was born, Kevin left Mikaela a note that he needed space without any warning. Six weeks later, Mikaela was served with divorce papers and Kevin gave her his wedding band. Heartbroken, Mikaela reluctantly went through with the divorce. She was granted full custody of Bailey but requested no child support (and Kevin never offered). top Chicago Police Department  Mikaela's past life and powers of clairvoyance were awakened at her first crime scene. Now a divorced, single mother, Mikaela fought to support her and Bailey both. She graduated from the Police Academy and was assigned to Dean Devon as a partner. They worked the graveyard shift with Mikaela's parents taking Bailey during the nights she worked. On her first crime scene, Mikaela saw her first homicide detective, awakening her past life as Cassandra and her own clairvoyant powers when she passed out with a vision of her murder in her last life. Over time, Mikaela learned to accept there was a community of people like her and that she wasn't going crazy. One night when Mikaela and Dean were working undercover overtime, they busted a man who had been wanted for the deaths of two police officers. They became the department heroes and were offered any promotion they wanted. Dean went to uncover but Mikaela requested homicide. Her new partner was John Dawson and she was the only girl murder cop in her precinct. It was at this time that Kevin remarried a bombshell trophy wife, Kari. Mikaela was crushed. Mikaela's clairvoyant visions aided her in investigations and she set a department record for most arrests made by a rookie detective. The guys took her in as a sister and she found a secondary family she could depend on. John was injured badly in the line of duty, banished to a desk . Mikaela had now learned to despise Kevin, realizing she missed what she thought they had had. With John on desk duty, Mikaela was given a new rookie partner, ex-marine Gavin Maguire. Gavin was a Story too and they became close friends and excellent partners. top What's the Story Introduction Mikaela first appeared in a flashback thread from high school when she and Henry were snarking and flirting in Chemistry class. top Reunion with Henry Taylor During her high school reunion, Mikaela found herself crossing paths with Henry after five long years. They picked up where they had left off, only by the end of the evening, Mikaela found herself seeing a softer side to Henry and made out with him before she bolted out to a crime scene, afraid to confront her feelings for him. She wasn't able to avoid Henry however, as the victim was one of his employees and Henry became a potential target. Mikaela found herself being pulled closer to Henry and she fought to find the killer first and they shared a few more passionate moments. As she and Gavin closed in on the killer, Mikaela had a vision of Henry being shot by him. She was able to secure a kevlar lined jacket for him, saving his life. top Storylines (Based on 3 Doors Down songs) Kryptonite: Mikaela never thought she'd give her heart away again, especially not to a renowned playboy like Henry, but when she discovers a very different side to him, she falls harder for him than she thought possible. iamkingCitizen/Soldier: Her partner at homicide and best friend. He's the first person to know about her past life. gavin_godofwarMy World (NPC): Bailey, Mikaela's daughter and top priority in everything that she does.
